La Escuela Comunitaria del Bronx (ECB) is a community-based, dual language, tuition-free private school opening in September 2023. We are an 11-month program running September through July. We are currently accepting applications for our founding class of 2 year old students.

Ready to Apply?

We are accepting applications for the 2023-24 school year. The deadline to apply is April 17th, 2023. Applications received after this date will be added to our waitlist.

To be eligible to apply:

  • Applicants must be born between September 1st, 2020 and August 31st, 2021 in order to be 2 years old by the first day of school.

  • Applicants families must live and/or work in the Bronx.

Applicants will be selected for enrollment based on a blind lottery. Lottery results will be available the week of April 17th, 2023.

Students who are not initially accepted via lottery will be added to our waitlist and given the opportunity for enrollment when a seat becomes available.

  • ECB conducts a blind tiered lottery process. Priority tiers of our lottery are as follows:

    Tier 1: Siblings of currently enrolled students
    Tier 2: Children of staff members
    Tier 3: Families who live or work in a proximity zip code to our school building
    Tier 4: Families who live or work in a Bronx zip code outside of our proximity zip codes

    Proximity zip codes for our lottery are: 10451, 10452, 10453, 10454, 10455, 10456, 10457, 10459, 10460, 10472, 10474.

  • No. Applicant families must live and/or work in the Bronx to apply. Priority will be given to students who live or whose families work in one of the following zip codes: 10451, 10452, 10453, 10454, 10455, 10456, 10457, 10459, 10460, 10472, 10474.

  • Applicants must be born between September 1st, 2020 and August 31st, 2021 in order to be 2 years old by the first day of school and eligible to apply.

  • We are a tuition free private school. There is no cost to attend.

  • Our day will run from approximately 8AM to 4PM. We will also have an opt-in, no-cost after school care option for families who want or need their child to stay until 5:30PM.

  • We are an 11-month program running from September through July.

  • Yes. We believe in serving all children and families who want to attend our school. Our team will work with you to ensure your child has the support they need.

  • Our 2’s program will have 10 students in each class. In each classroom, there will be three teachers - one Head Teacher and two Associate Teachers.
