Our Space

Located in the Morrisania section of the Bronx, our newly renovated space at 3480 Third Ave is an early childhood program for young children and their families to learn, create, and come together. Step into our second-floor haven, where modern design meets warm, welcoming touches that reflect the heart of the Bronx.
As the elevator doors open, you’re greeted by abundant natural light, vibrant colors, and treetop views framed by expansive windows. At the entrance, a handcrafted, upcycled desk—designed by local Bronx artist Tiffany Gomez—features a carved “HOLA,” setting the tone for the friendly and inclusive environment that awaits you.

The Movement Room

Spanning 15,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor spaces, our school was transformed in collaboration with Streamline Construction and the innovative minds at Eleven of Eleven Architecture. Every detail was designed with intention, creating an inspiring and functional environment for students and families alike. Highlights include six thoughtfully designed classrooms, a movement room, a versatile multipurpose space, and a rooftop terrace.

The design community has taken notice: La Escuela Comunitaria del Bronx is the proud recipient of the 2024 NYCxDesign Award in the Education category.

A Space for Exploration and Growth

Our classrooms are vibrant and child-centered. Open layouts encourage hands-on learning, while peek-a-boo windows between rooms foster connections among students. Artwork and engaging materials create an environment where children feel safe to explore and grow, both individually and together.

Bringing Learning Outdoors

At ECB, we know that education extends beyond the classroom. Our private outdoor space offers students a safe and stimulating environment to play, explore, and learn. With features like astro turf, hand-crafted wooden blocks, play mounds, and a garden, the playground is a favorite spot for discovery and adventure.

Building Community

At the heart of our school is the multipurpose room, a hub for connection and collaboration. Designed for students and families, this space hosts events, where the families and community come together to celebrate and share in the joy of belonging. Families also have access to a private conference room, offering a flexible workspace when needed.
